How the Deposit-Free Option Works

1. Choose Your Vehicle

Select an economy car, sedan, SUV, seven-seater or premium vehicle. Your chosen car must be available for the requested dates.

2. Request the Option

Tell our team that you want to rent without the standard AED 1,500 deposit. Provide your residency status, driving licence details and booking information for review.

3. Receive Approval and a Quotation

Once approved, your quotation will show the rental price, deposit-free charge, mileage, insurance and any delivery or additional service costs.

4. Review and Confirm

Review the quotation before paying. At handover, ensure existing marks are recorded in the Vehicle Condition Report.

How Much Does It Cost?

The charge is AED 35 for each rental day, up to a maximum of AED 350. No further deposit-free fee is added for that approved rental period after the cap is reached.

1 day - AED 35

3 days - AED 105

7 days - AED 245

10 days or longer - Maximum AED 350

The charge is non-refundable. It replaces the deposit requirement, not the rental cost or other applicable charges. If an approved rental is extended before reaching the cap, the AED 35 daily calculation continues until the total reaches AED 350.

Who Can Request This Option?

International visitors who are not GCC residents may apply. Approval depends on the driver, vehicle, and booking details.

The deposit-free option is not available to GCC residents. They can still rent from Al Hurr under the standard rental and security-deposit requirements.

Al Hurr may approve or decline a request. The option should appear clearly in the final quotation or booking confirmation before you make payment.

Which Cars Are Available Without a Deposit?

The option can be requested across the Al Hurr fleet, subject to vehicle availability and final approval. This includes economy sedans, SUVs, crossovers, seven-seaters and premium vehicles.

Each car has its own price and mileage conditions. Review the vehicle details and quotation before booking.

Deposit-Free Option vs Standard Deposit

The deposit-free option requires less money at the start, but the charge is not returned. The standard AED 1,500 deposit is refundable after applicable charges are settled and, under Al Hurr’s published terms, is normally held for 30 days after the vehicle is returned.

What the Deposit-Free Fee Does Not Cover

“No deposit” does not mean that no other charges can arise. The fee only replaces the standard security deposit. You remain responsible for the rental agreement and costs incurred while the vehicle is in your possession.

  • Traffic fines and DARB tolls: The renter remains responsible, including for charges received after the car is returned.
  • Fuel: Return the vehicle with the fuel level recorded at handover. A charge may apply if the level is lower.
  • Additional mileage: Kilometers above the included allowance are charged at the rate stated for the selected vehicle.
  • Damage: The fee does not cover damage or reduce insurance liability. Responsibility depends on the selected coverage and rental terms.
  • Cleaning and smoking: Charges may apply for excessive cleaning or smoking. Al Hurr’s published terms currently state an AED 150 charge for these conditions.
  • Late returns: A rental day is 24 hours. Al Hurr’s published terms allow a two-hour grace period, after which an additional day may be charged.

Request any extension before the agreement expires. It is valid only after Al Hurr approves the revised return date and charges.

Insurance and Required Documents

Basic insurance is included under Al Hurr’s published rental terms. Optional Collision Damage Waiver and Super Collision Damage Waiver may also be available.

The AED 35 charge is not insurance and does not reduce liability for damage. Review the coverage, excess, and exclusions before accepting the car.

If an accident occurs, contact Al Hurr and the appropriate local authorities immediately. An official accident report may be required for insurance processing.

International visitors generally need:

  • A valid passport copy
  • A valid home-country driving licence
  • An International Driving Permit where required
  • A valid debit or credit card

Requirements vary by license-issuing country and renter profile. Additional identification or travel documents may be requested.
